JM Rural Property Services – Terms and Conditions

1. Quotes and Pricing

All quotes are estimates based on the information provided. Final pricing may vary depending on site conditions, access, and the scope of work. If conditions differ significantly from what was originally described, pricing may be adjusted and discussed before continuing.

All prices are in NZD.

No GST is charged, as the business is not currently GST registered.

2. Scheduling and Access

2.1 Scheduling
Work will be scheduled at a mutually agreed time. Reasonable efforts will be made to arrive as planned, however timing may vary depending on workload and conditions.

2.2 Property Access
Customers must ensure clear and safe access to all areas requiring work. This includes unlocked gates, removal of obstacles, and notification of any hazards.

2.3 Weather Delays
Work may be delayed or rescheduled due to weather conditions. You will be contacted to arrange an alternative time where required.

3. Payment Terms

3.1 Deposit
A 50% deposit may be required prior to commencement of certain jobs, particularly for one-off work or new customers. This will be confirmed at the time of quoting. Deposits are applied to the final invoice and may be forfeited if a job is cancelled without reasonable notice.

3.2 Payment Due Date
Payment is due within 5 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed.

3.3 Payment Methods
Payment is accepted via bank transfer. Details are provided on invoices.

3.4 Late Payments
Overdue invoices may incur a fee of 2.5% per month on the outstanding balance. Services may be suspended until overdue amounts are settled.

4. Cancellations

4.1 Customer Cancellations
At least 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellation of one-off jobs. For ongoing work, one week’s notice is preferred.

4.2 Service Changes
Work may be rescheduled due to weather, equipment issues, or other circumstances outside of control.

5. Liability

All reasonable care is taken when carrying out work. However, by engaging JM Rural Property Services, you acknowledge that work is carried out in outdoor environments where conditions can be unpredictable.

To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law, JM Rural Property Services is not liable for:

  • Damage arising from site conditions, including terrain, vegetation, and ground conditions

  • Damage caused by undisclosed or hidden hazards, obstacles, or services

  • Pre-existing damage or property condition

  • Any indirect or consequential loss

Customers accept that a level of risk is inherent in this type of work.

6. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Disclosing any hazards, hidden objects, or sensitive areas

  • Securing pets during work

  • Removing or protecting vehicles, windows, and fragile items near work areas

  • Ensuring safe and reasonable access to the property

  • Raising any concerns promptly

7. Workmanship

Care is taken to complete all work to a high standard. If you are not satisfied, please make contact within 48 hours so the issue can be addressed.

8. Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

9. Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version will apply to all work carried out.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
