About James

James grew up working with his hands and has never stopped. He started out as an apprentice marine mechanic before running his own transport business, which gave him an early grounding in reliability, logistics, and looking after clients well.

Over time his work shifted toward large-scale civil and quarry operations, and eventually toward environmental management, which is where his passion really took hold. From 2015 to 2024 he worked as an Environmental Advisor for Stevenson Aggregates/Fulton Hogan, overseeing compliance across major quarry operations, designing stormwater and sediment control systems, and working alongside Auckland Council, iwi, and local communities. He played a key role in introducing one of New Zealand's first online environmental monitoring systems.

James lives in Kaiwaka with his wife and their dogs, and spends as much time as possible outdoors. He cares about this part of Northland and the people who live and work here, and that shows in the way he works.

Calm under pressure, easy to deal with, and always focused on doing things properly.

James is a good character, friendly, respectful, and a great communicator. He is highly motivated, honest, ethical, and adaptable.
