Property Services
Practical help for local farmers and lifestyle block owners to keep their land tidy and manageable.
Property work is fitted around a full-time role, with a small number of weekend jobs taken on.
PADDOCK & LIFESTYLE BLOCK MOWING
If your paddock needs a regular top or an overgrown area has got away on you, the slasher mower can handle pasture topping across larger areas, while the heavy-duty flail mulcher can tackle long grass, rough ground, sticks, small trees, and fence lines.
Paddock mowing is the main focus, and advance bookings are ideal.
OTHER PROPERTY WORK
Brush cutting, hedge and tree trimming, wood chipping, and similar property jobs are also available from time to time. Get in touch to see whether the job and timing are a good fit.
MACHINERY WORK
With Class 1–6, R, T, and W licences and extensive experience operating excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and graders, occasional rural machinery work may also be available where the job and timing suit.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING
Practical environmental or compliance support may also be available for selected projects. Feel free to get in touch for a chat.
About James
I’ve spent more than 30 years working across civil, quarrying, transport, and environmental sectors, and over that time I’ve turned my hand to just about everything.
I started out as an apprentice marine mechanic before running my own transport business, which gave me a strong grounding in reliability, logistics, and looking after clients properly. From there, my work moved into large-scale civil and quarry operations, and eventually into environmental management.
For nine years, I worked as an Environmental Advisor for Stevenson Aggregates and Fulton Hogan, supporting environmental compliance across major quarry operations. I designed stormwater and sediment control systems, worked closely with Auckland Council, iwi, and local communities, and led the installation of one of New Zealand’s first online environmental monitoring systems.
I come at environmental work from a practical point of view. I understand how sites run, what’s realistic, and how to get things done properly without overcomplicating it.
I’m based in Kaiwaka, where I live on a lifestyle block with my wife and our dogs, and I’m happiest working outdoors. That connection to the land, and the belief that it should be looked after properly, runs through everything I do.
I’m calm under pressure, easy to deal with, and focused on doing the job properly.

“James has been our go-to for everything on our lifestyle block over the last few years. Paddock mowing, digger work, chainsawing and mulching fallen trees, and reshaping the driveway so the water actually goes where it should. He’s easy to deal with, reliable, and takes pride in doing a good job. Highly recommend.”
